Peas Please

Week one of the holidays from nursery, like every Mum everywhere in the country I have been trying to think of ways to amuse my smalls and more specifically my little lady during the afternoons when the little man has his nap.
Yesterdays activity was more successful that I could have dreamed, she loved it!
Shelling peas….
A £1 packet of peas, rip the tops off and pop out the peas…
Have a couple of races with Mummy to see who can do it faster
Try counting them to see how many there are, hard when 20 is about your limit…
So, then we cooked them and had them for our dinner.

That’s a great thing to do! What a gorgeous girl she is too!
She is a bundle of mischief…

Great adventure! Isn’t it strange how the cheapest things can keep them amused for hours!
Ah yes….perfect!
We did this too! And wasn’t it so much fun!! (much more fun doing the podding than the eating afterwards if the truth be told).
This is lovely. When I was a child my parents used to grow peas in the garden and I have vivid memories of sitting on the kitchen floor shelling peas into a bowl. Will definitely being doing that with my daughter when she’s old enough.
