Super Moon…

Tonight the Moon is the closest it ever been to the Earth in 18years. It’s a full moon which is always a beautiful sight any month but tonight is special because it coincides with the closest approach to the Earth the moon has.

There is science stuff here > Super Full Moon – Nasa and here Supermoon – Wikipedia

There has been some suggestion in the media that the super moon could be linked to the recent earthquakes and high tides in Japan, there is also a lot of coverage to dispute this fact. It’s always been known that the moons cycle effects the tides but never more than a few centimeters.  With all the energy pent up inside the earth capable of causing earthquakes it seems strange to me that the moon might get the blame… But then I’m no scientist.

Essentially I’m a romantic, a poet and a dreamer, the moon is a light in the darkness, a thing of wonder that effects life’s cycle, something to behold breathlessly as it casts it’s eerie light over our lives…

I know people all over with world will be staring at the moon considering it’s planetary significance, the logical existence and what the means to life the universe and everything, not me..

I will be thinking fluffy thoughts of moonlit trysts, the reflection of moonlight on water and of Shelley –

“Heaven’s ebon vault, studded with stars unutterably bright, through which the moon’s unclouded grandeur rolls, seems like a canopy which love has spread to curtain her sleeping world.”

Whatever your perspective on tonight’s lunar experience, I hope you enjoy the phenomenon, it’s a long time to wait until it happens again…
